SENATOR Ahmed Makarfi, Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.This comes after Governors Okowa,Wike,Dickson,Umahi and PDP caretaker committee led by Makarfi held a close door meeting at Rivers state government house,Port Harcourt.
According to the Caretaker Committee Chairman, formal inauguration of the NEC was necessary to enlarge the decision-making organ of the party.
The NEC comprises non-elective members of NEC as enshrined in the PDP constitution while awaiting formal elective convention of the party.
The inaugurated NEC went into closed-door meeting shortly after his 5-minutes speech promising to brief the press after the meeting.
